Die Sammlung bietet einen facettenreichen Blick auf die Kunst- und Kulturgeschichte Norddeutschlands vom 18. Jahrhundert bis zur Gegenwart. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ist die Kinderkultur im Museum: Forschen, lernen und verstehen kann man im KINDEROLYMP und im KINDERBUCHHAUS. The Altonaer Museum is located very close to Altona Station, not far from the Elbe River, and borders Hamburg’s lively ‘in’ district of Otten- sen. The collection offers a diversified look at art and cultural history in north Germany from the 18th century up to the present. Another main focus of the museum is on children’s culture: the KINDEROLYMP and HOUSE OF CHILDREN’S BOOKS are places of explora- tion, learning and understanding.
